Take care of the kids. Clean the house. Order supplies. Fold the laundry. Make the holiday orders. Squeeze in a date. Respond to needy customers. Plan your next product. Exercise. Write social media posts. Sleep at some point.
When you're a wife, a mom, and a business owner, time management is the key to success! And when your time is tackled in an intentional way, your productivity will skyrocket.
First, time block your typical schedule.
If you don't know what time blocking is, it's when you divide your days into dedicated blocks. During that chunk, you only work on the assigned tasks. This prevents you from haphazardly working on tasks throughout the day but never completing any of them. (P.S. This is the method that Elon Musk, of Tesla, uses to run two major companies!)
I recommend using Google Calendar to set up your blocks, since multiple accounts can see the same calendar, and the web and app versions sync. Create time slots for everything in your life, such as meals, your business tasks, and the kids' bedtime. Don't forget to add small buffers in between slots to account for unexpected to-dos.
Plan your work week, Start by organizing all your orders or task in order from most to last important. Put on a podcast or music and start with the most important task. Allow yourself to take a short break when the task is complete.
When planning your work week if may find it helpful to have a specfic day to work on certain task within your business. Such as on tuesday your package and ship all items, on wednesday you print all new orders and order supplys. I personally found that I was able to get more accomplished when I didn't try to do all the things every single day
